The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark unveiled a powerful new online directory last week, which brings immediate access to information about its 179 parishes to Catholics across South London, Kent and beyond.
Each of these parishes serves many thousands of people, who have until now, used an annually compiled printed directory.
Whilst the printed directory will continue to be produced, it is now accompanied by a comprehensive, mobile friendly, centrally managed and rapid update, online version.
The project follows on from the reimagining of the main Archdiocese Website, bringing excellence in usability to both. Now, users can find detailed contacts, what3words locations, Mass times, accessibility information across this large Archdiocese with a simple and easy search.
Whilst simple to use, delivering this novel and powerful custom software solution involved many challenges, not least international custom database integrations and working effectively across complex and diverse stakeholder groups.
The Archdiocese of Southwark is led by Metropolitan Archbishop of Southwark, The Most Reverend John Wilson.
