Glow adopt CAFT as Charity Partner

CAFT

Sci-Tech Daresbury, a national science and innovation campus in the NW of England, recently appointed Childrens Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) as its new Charity partner for the next three years and Glow is proud to throw our support behind this successful initiative by adopting CAFT as our charity partner.

CAFT provide a variety of free programmes for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the North West.

CAFT is based at the beautiful Booth Bank Farm, a 17th Century farmhouse set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. CAFT helps children of all abilities aged 17 and under, children who through no fault of their own miss out on the normalities of childhood.

The needs of the children visiting the Farm are complex and range from severe physical and learning disabilities, sensory impairments and terminal illnesses through to children who act as carers for a family member, to children who have already faced bereavement and children who have witnessed and been victims of abuse. For these children, a visit to CAFT provides a much needed opportunity to have fun and laughter and to simply enjoy being children.

Sci-Tech Daresbury had previously supported Stick & Step over a four year programme, combining a varied events and fundraising programme, which raised over £31,000.

Selecting the charity partner for this period was a tough decision for the charity committee, with some really strong applications, but CAFT are clearly making a real difference with their work and Glow are delighted to fall in behind Sci Tech Daresbury to do our bit. I’m slightly less enthusiastic about the inevitable arduous sports based fundraising, but committed nonetheless!
